Auburn fox cubs played
on a cool summer morn',
tumbling on green plains
since they had been born.
In Mount March's shade,
moving like a storm,
bison teemed and grazed
in subtle, shifting form.
"I see you, Mount.
You are the same!"
Aurora cried
from her place
on the porch
wrapped around her father's home.
"Like the buck,
we make our stake
on this land
that You have claimed,
locking horns,
pawing for our Father's home."
Birds and rodents sought
fruit from summer's yield.
Every winter taught
to make most of each meal.
Hoping to get caught,
children swarmed the field,
and Aurora thought
of life's unending wheel.
"I see you, Mount.
You were the same
when we were kids
as You are today.
Now, we watch
our kids play as we once did.
Mountain true,
show me grace.
Be with my brother, Rio,
on this day,
for we've not
seen him since Eden was wed."
As she finished her prayer,
Aurora looked up,
and she saw blackish smoke there
on the mountain top.
It circled the peak
like a laurel wreath,
crowning the Mount
the victor.
Keen eyes could see
figures beneath
descending the Mount,
a man and panther.

In the wake of these
passing moments,
Time takes me by the hand.
Nothing missing, no
nothing at all.
Everything before my heart.
I'm floating down the river
leading me home.
In a world where the
people you know
will take you by the hand.
In a painting of
blues and greens,
everything just as it seems.
I'm floating down the river
leading me home.
You and I were made for this.
On and on and on and on it goes.
The river flows.
Carry me home.

An archetypal rugged landscape of hills and lochs, as far as the eye can see. On closer inspection, there are some signs of habitation: buildings, roads, farms… but they … Continue reading Album of the Week: The Other Half of Everything → Bandcamp Album of the Day Nov 21, 2011
